What's new

Yes, that's right--our baby can stand! Ellie is so busy that she isn't satisfied with just crawling and now just has to stand herself up to see what's going on. In fact, when you put her down on the floor, you have to put her in the crawling position because she stiffens her body so much that you can't sit her on her bottom. It's like trying to bend a post. And Kate is doing well with the change. She likes to talk to Ellie and play peek a boo with her and often tries to get Ellie to "come here" and when that doesn't work, she asks " Can you get her?" How fun it is.
We are also thrilled that Ellie has lengthened her afternoon nap, negating the need for her third nap during dinner. Hurray! At 9 months, she weighs what Kate weighed at 14 months! Incredible to see the difference not only in weight but in personality as well. What blessings our children are! I am still reticent to let her crawl at the beach...I know she'd LOVE to get as much sand in her mouth as possible, and doesn't that sound like fun! :) But with her new napping schedule, it frees us up to spend time together as a family after Jon gets home, which we love.

And here, of course, is a video of Ellie standing at the oh-so-loved LeapFrog table. Remember Kate here, too? Not so long ago..... (Click the previous sentence to go to the link.)
