Happy 5th Birthday, Ellie!

On May 13, our sweet Ellie turned 5. Where does the time go? It seems only yesterday she was our little baby and we were moving to Germany. Now Miranda is the baby and we're about to leave Germany!

We had a wonderful time celebrating Ellie's birthday. She wanted to go to Mainau Island, which is a beautiful island in the large freshwater lake on the borders of Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. Actually, she wanted to go to the butterfly house there and get a butterfly to land on her finger. After lots and lots of tries...birthday wish granted! We were doubly blessed as our sweet friend, Isabel, was able to skip school and join us. Even though the weather wasn't great, we had a great time celebrating our little blonde sweetie.

Below are a few pictures of our special girl from our recent trip to the UK. We had a wonderful time--what a beautiful place! How amazing to enjoy this incredible trip with our three littles.

If you travel with small children, you quickly realize they can become bored even in the most incredible locations. So we often resort to taking crazy-face pictures and being silly in front of the camera because they love to see themselves in the pictures.

C'mon, butterfly, work with the birthday girl!

Thank you for joining us, Isabel!
Ellie is such a delight to our family. She is silly, compassionate, thoughtful, funny, and fun to be around. She loves cuddling up with a book or running around outside. She still sleeps with her lovey and her thumb, and would sleep with her sisters if they'd let her! Her laugh is infectious and she is a grump in the morning. :) She'll correct your German pronunciation while forgetting the corresponding English word. She's never met a sweet she didn't like, and is always up for adventure. We love you, Elliana Hope! You enrich our lives so greatly, and we thank the Lord for you every day.

Happy Birthday, Ellie! Love the pictures. Jon, you need a purple jacket so that you can match all your girls in the pictures. :)

Love and blessings to you all,

This Jenn

What a great post of Ellie and the England trip. I love all of those characteristics of Ellie girl. We are so excited to see you all in person and to have you live here even for a short time!
