Mt. Vernon 2

Here's one of my favorite shots. This is the wharf at Mt. Vernon. Incredible to think who docked here to come see George and Martha.

Here's Jon's back as we're heading toward the house for the tour.

This is also neat to look at--there are 13 trees still alive on the property that were planted by George himself. One of them is in the center-background, over looking the Potomac. What stories it could tell!

And the next time you talk to Kate, be sure to ask her about where we went on the bus. SHe loves to tell people that we "ride a bus and wait our turn and ladies talking [tour guides] at George Washington's house." It's hilarious. Oh, and she'll also tell you we didn't find the pigs.

Hello, I already wrote on the other post, but I have to say how MUCH Ellie has grown...hard to believe. She is adorable. And Kate's wonderful communicating, terrific...sweet times for all. Cherish each day. Love, Mom/Dad

Thanks for the wonderful pictures of Mount Vernon. Some memories came back to me of when I lived in Virginia as a child, and went to Mount Vernon with my parents. It is such a beautiful area!

I love the pictures and posts of Mt. Vernon. You are so appreciative of our history and so respectful of the people. May you never lose that! And Ellie is to cute in the bathtub-sink. I love it! And I do want to hear from Kate. As a matter of fact I'm going to go call you right now!
We can't wait to see you all! Hugs and kisses,

P.S. Nice "Ithaca is Gorges" shirt. Brandon's sister and one of his friends lives in Ithaca, and, when we went there several years ago, saw this bumper sticker EVERYWHERE! Ithaca residents are a little obsessed and extremely proud of their gorges. :)
