Hello, Colorado!

Last weekend we packed up and headed out West to Colorado. We're here for a bit of a longer trip because Jon is in a class, and we're excited about spending more time with friends and family that we don't get to see very often. Kate is really lapping up all the extra attention. It was touch and go for that first day but who can blame the poor kid as she tries to adjust to a two hour time change in just 24 hours? But she bounced back on Sunday and has smiles for all the doting grandparents. The Moms, Kate and I went out to breakfast on Monday and while Mom Luminati was walking around Cracker Barrel with Kate, she said a waitress came up to her and said, "Oh my, it's the Gerber baby alive and well!" Then yesterday she began sticking out her tongue as though she can't quite get that food out of the corner of her mouth--it's really funny. I'm going to need to get baby chapstick if she doesn't stop doing that. Sorry, no pictures this time, but I'll try to add some at a later date. Oh, I also wanted to add it's quite the adventure living in a small hotel room with a nine month old. We have a bedroom separated from the living room by a door, so we don't actually have so share space with her when she's sleeping. That's a tremendous help. Now we're trying creative ways to see if we can get the monitor to reach all the way to the hot tub. No luck yet.

Oh aren't you blessed to be back in Colorado! Say hello to Pikes Peak for the Bolines - and say hello to all your family! Enjoy your time there, and yes, hotels and babies are a fun time .... note the sarcasm ...

What joy it is to have Jon and Jen and baby Kate in town. Their hotel rooms are small but very pretty and you should see the view of Pikes Peak from their window. Amazing! We love having you here. Kate sticking out her tongue is so funny. I hope she gets over that soon and returns to the great big smile. What a cutie she is! And she has been adjusting to different situations very well. Love, Nana and Grandpa

Have a great time in Colorado. I hope you work out the monitor to the hot tub. That would be heavenly. Ha! I am sure your moms and dads and grands are having a ball. Love, Aunt CIndy

Jen,
It is hard having a baby in a hotel room. We brought Bethany back to a hotel room in California when she was only 3 days old and we were exhausted to begin with. We bought a rice cooker to boil nipples!

What a thrill it was to get to Colorado and have you 3 walk through the door! We were so excited to see you and meet Kate. She is the most beautiful baby with such a sweet, happy little self! Uncle Al was tickled that she put her arms right out to him. You two are awesome parents!
Love you big,
Aunt JoAnn and Uncle Al
