We're Still Here!

Hello to you, our blog viewers. Long time, no update! We are sorry for the delay. Just a quick update on what's going on with us--our computer died a while ago and we have not finished reloading all the important applications on the new one yet. So that's why there aren't any pictures with this post! But we are working to get it straightened out. We're now eight months pregnant, due 27 May, and are anxiously awaiting the arrival of young Pip. Poor Kate has no idea what's in store! Kate is a daily joy--now she knows her colors and can identify them. She had an "owie" not long ago and though hers has healed, she's infinitely glad to find Daddy has one and asks to see it often. She loves to go outside and asks to go on a daily basis, which is great exercise for her mommy as mommy has to waddle pretty quickly behind her to keep up. Toddler pace continues to quicken!

We are still waiting to put our house on the market. Though we've been working at decluttering and sorting for quite a while now, we're still waiting for the policy of the Housing Assistance Program (part of the stimulus package) to come through to see what kind of government assistance we could get because of the depreciation of our house since we bought it. Kind of an important thing! So we wait. We are praying that we can go on the market and find a buyer before Pip arrives...but as the policy still has not been released (now the tentative date is 15 May) we are thinking we'll have to be ready to show with a newborn and a toddler in the house. Hmmmm. Should be interesting! Of course, it could be worse--we could have to actually move around the time of Pip's birth. So we are grateful that's not us and we are excited to see how the Lord will work everything out for His glory.

We had a wonderful visit from Nana Minnery that we want to post pictures from but that too will have to wait. Thanks to Nana for all her wonderful help and more on that to come.

So that's a short update on us. Check back (hopefully) soon for new pics.

Miss Independent

I had to laugh at what happened today. As it's Sunday, we went to church. Kate has recently moved up to the older nursery class and is thrilled with all the new toys she gets to play with. There are little chairs and tables for her, a car to sit and play in, and babies to push in strollers. (Kate LOVES babies (baby dolls). She has two favorite ones that she carries around most of the day.)

Well, we arrive at the door to the nursery and usually there is some reticence on her part to leave us. She will wave and say bye to us, but it's better if she's distracted by something fun inside the room before we leave. (Totally typical, I know.) Today, she immediately fixated on the two babies just waiting for HER on the nearest table. Baby, baby! she said. Mommy and Daddy forgotten, she reached for the nursery volunteer who took her, put her down, and let her run to the babies. She never looked back, never said bye bye, never glanced our way. Jon and I looked at each other and said, oh, ok. I guess it's better this way. We'll just go.

But it was still sad. There WE were, ready to say goodbye and get our kisses from our sweet baby and she was off and running on to more exciting things. I'm sure it's just a small taste of what's to come. Honestly, I am very glad she can let us go so easily...most of the time. :)

Fun videos

Here are a few recent videos of Kate and her antics. The first is with her friend, Andrew. They are only about a week apart and have been friends just about since birth! Thanks to Wendy for letting me put it on the blog. Seriously, I had no idea the video would turn out the way it did. Kate does her own interpretation of what Momma says. :)

Every night Kate asks for a bath. Whether it's bath night or not, she wants one. It's fun to see her get excited about it, especially after cleanup.

Disclaimer: The pregnant woman in the video didn't know she was on video. Please forgive the pants hitching. (If you've ever been pregnant, you know what a pain maternity pants are.)
